Okaloosa Take Stock in Children Program Earns Gold Level and Luminary Award Recognition

Okaloosa County School DistrictThe Okaloosa County School District is proud to announce that the state TSIC office has awarded its Take Stock in Children (TSIC) program Gold Level recognition and has achieved the prestigious Luminary Award for earning a perfect score of 100% on the 2024–2025 Balanced Scorecard assessment. This honor places Okaloosa among the top-performing TSIC programs statewide. It reflects the dedication of mentors, College Success Coaches, and district staff who work tirelessly to support at-risk students with scholarships, mentoring, and hope for a brighter future.

TSIC Executive Director John Spolski praised the recognition, stating: “This achievement is a direct reflection of the commitment of our mentors, coaches, and staff who are changing lives every day. Through Take Stock in Children, our students not only gain access to scholarships but also the encouragement and guidance that prepare them for long-term success.” Across Florida, Take Stock in Children delivered over 137,000 mentoring sessions this year, awarded 41 Gold and 3 Silver Balanced Scorecard Awards, and saw 38 affiliates—including Okaloosa—achieve the coveted Luminary Award status with a perfect 100% score.
