Okaloosa County School District Encourages Early Registration for REimagining Kindergarten 2026–2027

The Okaloosa County School District urges early registration for the 2026 – 2027 school year to help schools prepare for incoming students. Children turning five on or before September 1, 2026, are eligible. Full-day kindergarten follows the standard schedule at all elementary schools. Early registration helps plan staffing, classroom assignments, and the resources needed for student success.

“Starting at a new school, or even starting school for the very first time, is an important milestone for both students and their families,” said Superintendent Marcus Chambers. “Registering early helps us ensure that every child walks into a classroom that is fully prepared for them on the first day, with the teachers, support, and resources in place to help them feel welcomed and set up for success. We are excited to welcome new families to Okaloosa County Schools and to be part of their child’s journey.”

The district continues its focus on strengthening early learning through its REimagining Kindergarten initiative, designed to elevate excellence and ensure young learners begin their educational journey with confidence, curiosity, and excitement. Kindergarten classrooms are intentionally designed to foster engagement, build connections, and bring learning to life through hands-on experiences.
