Auditions for the Northwest Florida Ballet (NFB) Pre-Professional Program (PPP), Company and Trainees will take place for the 2026-2027 season on May 2 at the main studio in downtown Fort Walton Beach. Trainee auditions will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and auditions for the Pre-Professional and Company programs will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Company auditions are open to students entering the eighth grade and up, with a minimum of six years of formal ballet training and two years of pointe experience for female dancers. NFB’s Trainee program is designed for sixth-grade students with at least three years of formal ballet training. The PPP audition is open to any student in the community entering ninth through twelfth grades with at least six years of formal ballet training and two years on pointe for female dancers.
The NFB Company performs two to three mainstage productions at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center each season. NFB employs several professional dancers, international guest artists, and advanced-level dancers from the NFB Académie and PPP, comprising the corps de ballet and apprentice levels. Professional dancers seeking work for the upcoming season should email their resumes and performance video materials to NFB Artistic Director Todd Eric Allen at tallen@nfballet.org.
The PPP is a collaborative effort between NFB and the Okaloosa County School District that offers high school students the opportunity to receive professional dance training alongside their academic studies. Students who complete the program will earn eight fine arts credits toward their high school diploma over four years.
NFB’s PPP, Company and Trainee auditions are by reservation only and require a $25 fee. Registrations and fees must be completed and paid online by April 30 at 2 p.m. The form and additional details are available at www.nfballet.org/auditions.
