Alaqua Animal Refuge is excited to announce that Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort + Hotel Effie have stepped up as the Presenting Sponsors and Champions for the Cause at the 3rd Annual FORE! The Love of Animals Golf Tournament. This prestigious event will unfold at The Links Golf Club at Sandestin on Saturday, June 8, 2024, where sport meets compassion in a day full of golf and goodwill.
 
Simba, an Alaqua Alum and the charismatic canine mascot and esteemed Director of Pet Services at Hotel Effie, is at the forefront of this noble initiative. With his spirited 'bark,' Simba is rallying participants and their four-legged companions to support a cause that is not only close to his heart but also Alaqua's—animal welfare.

Registration Information:
  • Teams of 4 (individual players will be paired)
  • Includes 18 holes with a cart, a boxed lunch, and two drink tickets
  • Registration Fee: $250 per individual, $850 per team of four
The day's festivities kick off at 8:30 a.m. with check-in and a delicious breakfast, accompanied by a Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar. The golfing action tees off at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start in a scramble format. After the tournament, guests are invited to the Sunset Bay Cafe Pool Deck at Sandestin for the 'Yappy Hour' awards ceremony. Here, guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, beer, and wine, and host a series of exciting raffles.

Alaqua Animal Refuge is a no-kill animal shelter and sanctuary, located in the panhandle of Florida.
