United Forward: The Road Map to Impact
The launch of United Forward represents a definitive strategic pivot for our region. While the Northwest Florida FORWARD plan from 2017 established the initial framework, the economic landscape of the "Great Northwest" has since been completely transformed. With new target industries, evolving data, and fresh eyes, Florida’s Great Northwest recognized that this momentum required a strategy that reached beyond the original initiative’s goals. In July 2025, Florida’s Great Northwest secured a $4.7 million grant from Triumph Gulf Coast to drive this evolution through a two-part roadmap to impact:
1. Research, Strategy, & Plan Development
Florida’s Great Northwest is currently deep in the research phase of United Forward. This involves refining the FORWARD Technical Report. The University of West Florida Haas Center is gathering the critical data necessary to inform a modern economic development and marketing strategy for the region.
2. Global Marketing Execution
Upon completion of the research phase, the initiative will transition into implementation: Florida’s Great Northwest will execute the largest regional marketing campaign in Northwest Florida history. This effort moves beyond general awareness, utilizing a direct, authoritative approach to position the region in front of the global site selectors and executives.
