The HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital Auxiliary is continuing its longstanding tradition of giving back with a generous $1,000 donation to HCA Healthcare’s Hope Fund to support hurricane relief efforts. The Hope Fund is a 501(c)3 public charity that provides emergency funds to colleagues facing hardship due to illness, injury, natural disasters or other difficult situations that impact their essential needs.
The contribution reflects the Auxiliary's enduring commitment to helping others, a mission that has remained at the heart of the organization since its founding in 1952.
"For more than seven decades, our Auxiliary volunteers have demonstrated what it truly means to care for others," said Todd Jackson, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital. "Their generosity extends far beyond the walls of our hospital, and this donation is another wonderful example of their compassion and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others."
The Auxiliary's remarkable history began on June 27, 1952, when 16 dedicated women came together to establish a volunteer organization supporting Bay Hospital in Valparaiso. At the time, the hospital had just 12 beds, and volunteers played an essential role in supporting patients, nurses and the growing healthcare needs of the community.
Over the decades, the Auxiliary has remained a steadfast partner through the hospital's growth and transformation. From assisting nurses and operating the hospital coffee shop to organizing community fundraisers, purchasing medical equipment and supporting hospital improvements, its members have continually found ways to make a difference.
When the hospital relocated to its current Niceville location in 1980, the Auxiliary continued its mission of service, helping build the legacy of compassion and community involvement that remains an important part of HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital today.
Today, the Auxiliary continues to support charitable initiatives, scholarships and other meaningful causes that benefit individuals and families.
"The dedication of our Auxiliary members is truly inspiring," Jackson added. "Their willingness to help those facing difficult circumstances reflects the caring spirit that makes our hospital and community so special. We are incredibly grateful for their continued generosity and service."
The $1,000 contribution to the HCA Hope Fund serves as another reminder that the spirit of volunteerism and generosity remains strong at HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital.
