HCA Florida Hospitals Announce Dr. Dan Hagler as Chief Medical Officer

Dan Hagler, M.D., has been appointed chief medical officer (CMO) of HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital and HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital, as of March 4.

In this role, Dr. Hagler will lead the clinical and quality initiatives that support consistent clinical performance and practice standards across HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital and HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital. Dr. Hagler brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience with a proven track record of improving quality and patient safety as well as the development and growth of key service lines.

Dr. Hagler previously held vice president and CMO roles at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, North Carolina, where he had direct responsibility over medical affairs and programmatic responsibility of quality, safety, performance improvement, infection prevention and accreditation. 
 
In addition to the above, Dr. Hagler was the lead for physician relations including multiple hospitalist programs and was the hospital liaison for the Family Practice Residency Program affiliated with Cabarrus Family Medicine, a large multisite employed family practice group with over 50 physicians and 24 residents and fellows.

Dr. Hagler graduated from University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio
