HCA Florida Healthcare announced today its hospitals are the recipient of more than 650 quality awards from Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients. Healthgrades recognizes high-performing hospitals for their commitment to delivering excellence in patient care and outcomes through three distinct programs, including the five-star recipient rating, America’s Best Specialty Care Awards and Specialty Excellence Award.
Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals for specialty care, as well as certain procedures and conditions. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between hospitals who received a Healthgrades distinction and those that did not receive a distinction.
More than 30 hospitals across the HCA Florida Healthcare family were recognized for their ongoing commitment to providing high-quality patient care and delivering consistently exceptional outcomes. Combined, the hospitals received a total of 673 Healthgrades awards, 58 more awards than HCA Florida Healthcare received in 2022. This increase reflects HCA Florida Healthcare’s continued commitment and investment in the delivery of exceptional patient care. HCA Florida Healthcare is pleased to have been recognized for their unwavering commitment to excellence despite the myriad of challenges brought on by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Across the HCA Florida Healthcare network, the specialties that received the highest number of awards included Cardiac, Critical Care, Gastrointestinal and Orthopedics.
“We commend HCA Florida Healthcare for their ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care to patients across the state of Florida,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades.
