Elder Services of Okaloosa County Seeks Assistance With Aging Population Needs

Elder Services of Okaloosa County is a private, non-profit, charitable organization that assists at-risk, vulnerable adults within the community. Our clients must survive on restricted fixed incomes, and the economy adds further pressure to an already dire situation. Most of them must make choices involving food, housing, utilities, and medical expenses. As temperatures rise, many seniors in our area are living without adequate air conditioning, putting them at serious risk for heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and other serious health complications. To combat this, we are launching a Senior Heat Relief Program with the goal of providing window air conditioning units to vulnerable seniors in need.

We are currently seeking community partners to help make this possible. There are a few ways you can get involved:
• Sponsor A/C units ($250 provides one A/C unit, $450 provides one A/C & heat combo unit)
• Make a financial contribution toward bulk purchases
• Donate units directly or assist with sourcing/installations
