Destin High School is launching a new, community-wide fundraiser, The Destin Golden Shark Tooth Hunt, an eight-week scavenger-style treasure hunt designed to spotlight Destin’s local restaurants while raising funds to support students, programs, and school-wide initiatives.
The hunt begins today, Jan. 7, 2026, and runs through March 15, 2026, concluding when one lucky participant discovers the hidden Golden Shark Tooth and claims the grand prize: 52 free meals, one per week for a year, provided by Graffiti Pizza, Destin (one slice and one cold soda per week). The first clue is available at Graffiti Pizza in Destin starting today (Jan. 7, 2026) and will be available there through Jan. 15, 2026. The second clue will be available at Chick-Fil-A Destin from Jan. 16 - 22, 2026. Additional locations will be announced via the website below and school social media channels.

How the Hunt Works
Each week, a local participating restaurant becomes the Featured Clue Location. Participants must visit that restaurant in person to view the weekly clue.
*After the featured restaurant week ends, the clue will be displayed at Graffiti Pizza and then posted on Destin High School’s social media channels.
Key point: If you want each clue early, you must find it in person during the restaurant’s featured week.
Restaurant Sponsorship Opportunity (8 Slots total)
Only a few spots remain for restaurants interested in sponsoring as a featured location.
Sponsorship contribution: $500 per restaurant
What sponsoring restaurants receive:
• One full week as the Featured Clue Location (participants visit your restaurant to get the clue early)
• Increased foot traffic throughout your assigned week
• High-visibility promotion across Destin High School channels, including our dedicated communication platform for students and parents - ParentSquare, Facebook, Instagram, community partner pages, and school digital signage.
• In-restaurant marketing materials provided, including flyers, graphics, and event details
• Community recognition as an official supporter of local education and Destin High School
No Purchase Required - But Engagement Is High
No purchase or donation is required for participants to view clues, and purchasing food or drinks does not increase chances of winning. However, the Hunt is expected to increase dining traffic naturally as families, locals, and visitors participate throughout the eight-week event.
Official Rules & Disclaimer (Summary)
The Golden Shark Tooth Hunt is open to the public; all ages may participate (minors with parental guidance). Only one clue is released per week. The Golden Shark Tooth will be placed in a publicly accessible, safe location, no digging, climbing, trespassing, or unsafe behavior is required. The first person to locate and secure the Shark Tooth, take a photo at the discovery location, and contact Destin High School per posted instructions will be verified for the prize. Destin High School reserves the right to disqualify participants for unsafe or disruptive conduct and may modify, suspend, or cancel the hunt for safety or unforeseen circumstances. All decisions are final at the discretion of Destin High School.
