Collegiate High School Students Honored for Accomplishments

Collegiate High School at Northwest Florida State College continues to uphold its tradition of academic excellence, as demonstrated by several significant achievements.

We are thrilled to announce that two of our students, Camille Peck and Roy Thomas, have been named Semi-Finalists for the National Merit Scholarship Program. These exceptional students now have the opportunity to advance to the final stage of the competition, where nearly $28 million in scholarships will be awarded.

The National Merit® Scholarship Program honors students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, participate in school and community activities, show leadership qualities, receive endorsements from high school officials, write a qualifying essay, and achieve SAT® or ACT® scores that reflect their earlier performance on the qualifying exam. Of the 1.6 million students who entered the competition, the Semi-Finalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.

Additionally, two of our students have been named Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Congratulations to Brynne Massey and Carli Emerzian for their impressive performance on the PSAT, ranking them among the top 50,000 high school students in the nation.

We are also proud to announce that fifteen CHS students have earned National Recognition from the College Board. To receive this competitive honor, students needed a GPA of 3.5 or higher and exceptional performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and/or AP Exams.
