In celebration of Earth Day, the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) has launched its 2025 Amateur Photo Contest, a Mattie Kelly Environmental Initiative. The annual contest invites amateur photographers of all skill levels to submit original images that showcase the natural beauty and ecological heritage of the Choctawhatchee Bay and surrounding areas.
Photographers are encouraged to capture what they love about nature in and around the Choctawhatchee Bay. Submissions may highlight the area’s scenic landscapes, the connection between people and the environment, or moments that reflect sustainability and science in action. The goal is to celebrate the unique natural heritage of Northwest Florida through the lens of its community.
Winning photographs and honorable mentions will be featured in the 2025 Mattie Kelly Environmental Institute calendar. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three submissions:
- First Place: $250
- Second Place: $150
- Third Place: $100
Photos must be high quality, original, and taken within the Northwest Florida region. For full contest rules and submission guidelines, visit basinalliance.org/cba-2025-amateur-photo-contest or email CBA@nwfsc.edu.
Join the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance in celebrating the region’s natural environment and help showcase what makes the Choctawhatchee Bay such a vital part of our community.
