Calling all CAA Volunteers to mark your calendars this fall!
Fall event season at the CAA is officially here, and we could really use your help. These events are a big part of how we support arts programming in our community, and they’re also a lot of fun. Below are two upcoming volunteer opportunities with details on how to sign up:
Flutterby – Sunday, Nov. 9
Join us on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., as the beloved Flutterby Festival returns to Watersound Town Center! The festival offers live entertainment for the entire family, art activities like the butterfly wing creation station and craft-making as well as the butterfly learning center, carnival games and a flutterby frenzy at the end of each day.
We’re looking for 89 volunteers throughout the day to help with tasks like load-in/load-out, hanging student artwork, selling merchandise, and running fun event activations such as our Imagination Art Tent.
This is also a great opportunity for students and local teams who need to fulfill volunteer requirements — we can even help coordinate special group volunteer projects. If you know any local teams or students who might be interested, please send them our way!

30A 10K Thanksgiving Day Races – Nov. 26–27
The 30A 10k Thanksgiving Day Race Series is a 501c3 non-profit organization, whose purpose is to serve the community by producing a world-class 10k and related events that raise money to benefit local charities, while promoting health and fitness. To date, the series has raised more than $870,000 for our charity partners to help local families and children in need. The Thanksgiving Day Race Series offers two days of fun and has become a family tradition! With a 10K, 5k and 1 mile run/walk, there is a race distance for every ability.
We’re looking for about 45 volunteers to help cover our assigned shifts — and our funding from this event depends on both filling those spots and having volunteers show up on race day. This is a fun, family-friendly way to spend Thanksgiving morning! Tasks include selling merch, helping set up the race course, and handing out water along the route. We had such a great time last year, and we’d love to have you join us again.

** Special note to Songwriters Festival Volunteer Applicants **
To secure a guaranteed volunteer spot for the 2026 30A Songwriters Festival, remember that volunteers who assist with our events throughout the year are prioritized for shifts, even among the nearly 1,000 applications we receive. Those who volunteer multiple times during the year are also considered for the highly coveted pre-festival shifts and morning shifts. Don’t miss out—sign up now to get involved!
