It's that time of year again - time to renew your Destin Business Tax Receipts (BTRs). To avoid any late fees, renewal payments are due each year no later than Sept. 30.
The City of Destin has moved to a new online platform, MyGovernmentOnline (MGO), to manage Business Tax Receipts (BTRs). As part of this system upgrade, all businesses are required to create a new account and submit a new BTR application, even if you’ve previously held one with the City.
Step-by-Step: How to Apply for Your BTR in MGO
1. Visit https://www.mgoconnect.org/cp/portal
2. Click “Apply for your Business Tax Receipt” on the left-hand column. (Note, if it doesn’t appear, select Current Jurisdiction in the upper right corner, and select State Florida, and Jurisdiction Destin)
3. Create your “New Account” by clicking the button and following the instructions OR if you already have an MGO account, log in using it.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions.
