Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida is proud to recognize Logan Schall as the 2026 Escambia County Big Brother of the Year. This annual honor celebrates a mentor who demonstrates exceptional commitment, compassion, and service to youth in the community.
On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida staff members surprised Logan at RE/MAX Horizons Realty in Pensacola to present him with the award. Joined by his Little Brother Kadarrel, Kadarrel's family, and Logan's coworkers, the celebration recognized the meaningful impact he has made through his dedication to Kadarrel and the positive influence he continues to have on his life.
Since being matched on March 29, 2024, Logan has demonstrated unwavering dedication, consistency, and genuine care for Kadarrel. Together, they have built a strong and trusting relationship through meaningful experiences that have supported Kadarrel's growth into a more confident and outgoing young man.
Logan has created opportunities for Kadarrel to step out of his comfort zone and try new experiences. Their time together has included playing video games, attending parades, and exploring new places and activities throughout the community. One of their most memorable outings was a trip to New Orleans to see a Pelicans basketball game, where Logan used the experience as motivation for Kadarrel to maintain strong grades, reinforcing the importance of education, responsibility, and hard work. More recently, Logan introduced Kadarrel to a new cultural experience at Sake Café, where he tried new foods and expanded his horizons.
“Logan has been a respectful, dependable, and positive role model," Kadarrel said. "He makes sure we have fun and create great memories together. We enjoy golfing, hockey games, and eating out together.”
Through Logan's encouragement and steady support, Kadarrel has grown more confident in his communication skills. This progress has been especially evident during his transition into high school, where he has made new friends and joined the track team.
Despite balancing multiple jobs, family responsibilities, and personal challenges, Logan has remained consistently present in Kadarrel's life, meeting three to four times each month. His reliability and commitment have helped Kadarrel build confidence, develop new skills, and embrace new opportunities. These qualities make Logan a deserving recipient of the 2026 Escambia County Big Brother of the Year Award. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida is grateful for Logan's investment in Kadarrel and the difference he continues to make through mentorship.
