SimpleHR is looking for a full-time experienced Accounting Assistant based in the Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Florida area.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports in daily accounting operations and tasks.
  • Aids in processing general ledger transactions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Assists with various accounting functions like garnishments and workers comp.
  • Helps in processing and preparing tax returns.
  • Supports benefit reconciliations.
  • Performs administrative and clerical duties such as mail processing, supply order management, and credit checks.
  • Assists in various special projects and tasks as needed, including electronic documentation storage management and process/procedure manual maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • Accounting degree and /or two (2) years accounting experience in all facets of general ledger accounting, including G/L posting, adjusting journal entries, bank reconciliations, A/R and A/P.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and terminology is required.
  • Must have knowledge of computerized accounting systems. Experience with Quickbooks is a plus.
