Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast will host a Women’s Gynecology Health seminar on Tuesday, Apr. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Hospital’s Medical Office Building located at 7720 U.S. Hwy 98 West, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.
Dr. Glenn Bankert, a board-certified gynecologist and skilled robotic surgeon will lead the presentation and answer questions from guests about common gynecologic conditions, their causes and symptoms. Bankert will explain the options available to address these conditions including medical options and surgical options - open surgery, laparoscopic surgery, vaginal surgery, and da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery.
Benign hysterectomy is one of the common gynecologic procedures used to address symptoms caused by a gynecologic condition. In many cases, women live with symptoms for years without seeking treatment because they are not aware of what is normal or not normal. Many gynecologic conditions have similar symptoms such as; pelvic pain or pressure, frequent urination/incontinence, pain during intercourse or painful bowel movements.
Approximately 500,000 hysterectomies are performed annually in the United States. If you are wondering what takes place during gynecologic procedures, you will have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on demonstration of Sacred Heart’s newest robotic-assisted technology, the da Vinci Xi Surgical System which will be on-site for the event. The da Vinci Xi robotic surgery system is currently used at Sacred Heart across a wide spectrum of minimally invasive gynecologic procedures including robotic hysterectomy, laparoscopy, vaginal sling procedures and advanced female pelvic-floor disorders.
Attendance for this event is free. Seating is limited, and reservations are recommended. A light breakfast will be served. To register please go online to healthcare.ascension.org/Events or call (850) 278-3600.
