Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast is offering community education American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Initial courses in September and October.
Basic Life Support training reinforces healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, and using an AED; and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.
The BLS Instructor-Led Training Course teaches participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

Classes will be held at Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast, Suite 1, Education Building. Cost is $50 per person.
