The Friends Guild of the Destin Library continues their Independent Film Series on February 18 at 2:00 p.m. with the film “Nine to Five.” These movies are free to the public and you are welcome to bring light refreshments.
“Nine to Five” (1980) is an office satire about three female secretaries who decide to get revenge on their tyrannical, sexist boss by abducting him and running the business themselves. The trio, one of whom was passed over for promotion because she is a woman, spend a night together having fantasies of killing the slave-driving chauvinist. The following day, they panic when they suspect one of them really has poisoned the tyrant. The film stars Dolly Parton (who also performs the theme song), Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dabney Coleman.
