Come cool off at Grand Boulevard this summer with Emerald Coast Theatre Company’s production of “The Tempest.” Wade through the storm to a magical island filled with scaly fish men, woodland sprites, and a powerful wizard pulling all the strings. Sit in the splash zone and experience the action up close- if you dare!
Part of Grand Boulevard’s Coastal Culture series, “The Tempest” is a family-friendly show that performs every Thursday night from May 26th- July 28th, 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. This show is free and open to the public- bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating. In case of rain, “The Tempest” will be performed at Emerald Coast Theatre Company upstairs in the 560 building
“ECTC is honored to return for an eighth summer of Theatre Thursdays at Grand Boulevard,” said Nathanael Fisher, Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director of ECTC. “This adaptation of ‘The Tempest” is a hilarious way to spend a summer evening with your family. The physical comedy and comedia' style appeals to all ages and there is just something special about watching Shakespeare under the stars.” Adapted by Gillette Elvgreen, this hilarious comedy is about misunderstandings, love and deception. The course of true love never did run smooth.
To add to the fun, lawn games from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. and a themed kids' craft pre-show, 7 p.m. – 8 p.m., will also take place in Grand Park (located between Cantina Laredo and Tommy Bahama). Grand Boulevard lawn games take place Thursdays – Saturdays, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. throughout the summer in Grand Park. Enjoy ping-pong, corn hole, giant chess games and more.
