Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Senior Spirit program will host a seminar featuring Dr. Ellen Vorbeck, DNP, of Sacred Heart Hospital’s Wound Care Center, on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m.
Dr. Vorbeck will speak on “Avoiding Wounds as We Age” – covering a variety of topics including how to avoid injury, how to care for simple injuries, wound care at home and specialized wound care services available at Sacred Heart Hospital. There will be a question and answer session after the presentation.
Dr. Vorbeck is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and holds board certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse and Certified Wound Specialist with over 20 years of wound and ostomy experience and 13 years of experience in adult medicine. She is a noted key opinion leader and educator in the field of wound and ostomy care.
The Center for Wound Care at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast provides the expertise to properly diagnose and treat slow-healing and chronic wounds. The center also provides specialized care, troubleshooting, and education for patients with ostomies. The multidisciplinary team of wound care experts work together to heal wounds and preserve limbs while educating the patient and preventing wound recurrence.
