Darren Knight 'Southern Momma' Headlines Night of Comedy at Alaqua Animal Refuge

Alaqua Animal Refuge invites the community to an unforgettable evening of laughter, live music, and Southern charm at A Night of Comedy with Darren Knight (aka Southern Momma), set for Saturday, May 23, at Angel’s Arena at Alaqua Animal Refuge.
 
The event will feature nationally recognized comedian Darren Knight, widely known as “Southern Momma,” alongside fan-favorite Red Squirrel and special guest Nicole Starnes.
 
Guests are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy a full evening of entertainment, beginning with live bluegrass music from Black Creek Strings Band at 5:00 p.m. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., with the comedy show beginning at 7:00 p.m. Seating is first-come, first-served, with VIP seating reserved for sponsors. The event will include on-site food trucks and alcohol available for a suggested donation.
 
Knight, recently named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch,” has quickly become one of the fastest-rising comedians in the country. Known for his relatable Southern humor, he has built a massive following and continues to sell out theaters and casinos nationwide. Red Squirrel brings high-energy storytelling and sharp wit, while Nicole Starnes rounds out the lineup with her distinct comedic perspective.
 
“This night is about more than laughter, it’s about creating moments of joy while supporting the animals who rely on us every day,” said Laurie Hood, founder of Alaqua Animal Refuge. “When our community comes together like this, it directly fuels our ability to rescue, rehabilitate, and give second chances to animals in need.”
 
Tickets are $40 per person, with proceeds benefiting Alaqua Animal Refuge’s ongoing efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need.
