Our mission is to inspire travelers and coastal communities to care for the places we love\, and this global day of ocean conservation is the perfect opportunity to make a difference.\n\n\n\nAs we build our platform to help travelers discover the best coastal stays\, we remain committed to preserving the beauty and health of our oceans. Our beach cleanups bring together volunteers\, ocean advocates\, and community leaders to remove harmful debris and raise awareness about plastic pollution. By joining us\, you'll be part of a movement to keep our beaches clean and our marine life safe one piece of trash at a time.\n\n\n\nEvent Details\n\n	Date: June 8\, 2025\n	Time: 9 am to Noon\n	Location: The Okaloosa Island Boardwalk\n	Address: 1450 Miracle Strip Pkwy SE\, Fort Walton Beach\, FL 32548\n\nMeeting Point\n\nVolunteers will gather at The Okaloosa Island Boardwalk\, located at 1450 Miracle Strip Pkwy SE\, Fort Walton Beach\, FL 32548. Please arrive by 9 a.m. for a brief orientation and to collect your cleanup bag and t-shirt.\n\n\n\nMeet Your Cleanup Captain:\n\n\n\n\n\nTabitha Siegfried (Instagram @tabby.siegfried)\n\n\n\nMy name is Tabitha Siegfried\, and I'm a marine biologist specializing in sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation. I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from the University of West Florida and now serve as the Sea Turtle Stranding Coordinator at the Gulfarium C.A.R.E. Center. The ocean has been my passion since childhood\, and I've dedicated my career to protecting it. I see firsthand how plastic pollution harms marine life\, which is why I'm leading this beach cleanup. Every piece of trash removed makes a difference\, and I'm excited to work together to help protect our oceans!\n\n\n\nWhat to Bring\n\n\n	Reusable water bottle\n	Sunscreen\n	Hat and sunglasses\n	Gloves of some sort\n	Trash "grabbers" if you have some\n	Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes\n\nRegistration\n\nTo participate\, please register here. During registration\, volunteers will be asked to provide their t-shirt size to help us ensure appropriate supplies.\n\n\n\nAdditional Information\n\nVolunteers of all ages are welcome\; however\, minors must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nCommunity service hours can be certified for students upon request.\n\nIn case of inclement weather\, updates will be provided via email.\n\nWe aim to provide the first 100 participants with a free event t-shirt\, with sizes allocated based on the registration information you provide.
