This event is not managed or sponsored by the Destin Chamber.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 23rd Annual Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic will be held at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort from June 18-22\, offering more than $2 million in cash and prizes to competitors.\n\n\n\nFishing teams from across the Gulf Coast region compete to land the biggest blue marlin\, which must measure at least 110 inches from lower jaw to tail fork to qualify for weigh-in.\n\n\n\nCompetition begins at noon that Thursday from the Destin Pass\, with official weigh-ins scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings at Baytowne Marina. \n\n\n\nFriday night's activities will include fireworks over the marina. \n\n\n\nBeyond the blue marlin division\, the tournament features catch-and-release categories for blue marlin\, white marlin\, sailfish and spearfish. Weighed competitions for tuna\, wahoo and dolphin (mahi-mahi) will be scored at one point per pound.\n\n\n\nThe ECBC serves as a qualifying event for the Florida Panhandle Billfish Series\, InTheBite's Captain of the Year Program and the Gulf Coast Triple Crown Championship. \n\n\n\nThe tournament week also includes the ECBC Golf Scramble on Wednesday\, June 18.
