This event is not managed or sponsored by the Destin Chamber.\n\n\n\n\n\nLongleaf Educational Services (501-3c)  announces the 12th annual Longleaf Writers Conference to take place May 10-17 in Seaside\, Florida\, as part of the Cultural Arts Alliance's Art Month events.  \n\n\n\nThe Longleaf Writers Conference includes a full week of intensive writing workshops\, one-day seminars\, agent consultations\, school outreach programs and social events. The conference\, which takes place at the Seaside Institute and other local venues in Seaside\, FL\, provides an opportunity for beginning\, intermediate\, and advanced writers to celebrate writing\, to network\, and to hone their craft. \n\n\n\nVisiting authors Andre Dubus III (Gone So Long\, The Garden of Last Days\, House of Sand and Fog\, an Oprah's Book Club pick and finalist for the National Book Award\, and Townie\, winner of an American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Literature) and poet Khadijah Queen (Anodyne\, winner of the William Carlos Williams Award) will each lead a seminar and give a public reading while guest literary agents Kayla Lightner (Ayeshe Pande Literary)\, Ayla Zuraw Friedland (Frances Goldin Literary)\, Audrey Crooks and Aurora Fernandez (Trident Media Group) will offer seminars and one-on-one consultations with attendees.  \n\n\n\nWhat makes Longleaf special?\n\nOur Public School Outreach Program where Fellows and Scholars mentor middle and high school students in underserved Walton County schools.
